I haven't been on the forum for a while I have been building my new 540 cubic inch big block for my 1969 Camaro. This is one of the mildest running big inch big block ever.

Parts include

Dart Big M block, Pro 1 heads flowing 425CFM after porting.
Hydrualic roller cam, bee hive springs, Eagle rotating assembly, Victor Jr intake.

Pictures of the parts

I am taking the car to the dragstrip in two weeks. I used to go 11.50 I am hoping for a 10.90 or less.:box2:

I love having a car that will start spining the tires at 100Mph just by hammering the gas.

We just dunoed a 540 Friday with a baby 255/262 solid roller, probably a bit more cam then you have, and it was absolutly staving for air. The carb I used came off my 585HP 404 small block which has perfect air fuel at wide open throttle. Same carb was dead fat at 6300 RPM, 12.0 air fuel was the best we could lean it out by lowering the jets before we started loosing HP which means it did not need less jet, it needed more air. The 950 will not support this kind of horsepower especially with so many cubes. It will need at least a 1050CFM 4150 base or better yet a dominator to support 700HP.

I just bought a real cool tuning tool, a FAST air fuel meter. Monitors both banks with dual O2s. For $400 and change, I think I am going to like having it in the street racer.

My car runs 10.70s at 585HP with no wheres near the torque of a 540, You should run 9.90s, not 10.90s at 700HP. So get ready to pucker up, LOL!

The 950HP Has had some work done to it to make it flow better. I would love the car to go 9.90's but i'll say 10.90's to call it safe. With a 9" X 28" slick and stock rear suspension I think it may spin a bit?:pat:

This one, although this pass is a little faster then 10.70s. It runs 10.70s on muscle, it's much faster when I spray it. This was the finals of our local No Bull nationals race. Its all not times, but the pink Mustang was dialed in at 8.70 in brackets the night before. He got me by a fender, but my little pump gas 404CI gave him all he wanted and a bag a chips. I am bring it to Pigeon Forge also. The girl doing the video really likes Mustangs, LOL!

This is a 11.0 Mustang I ran first round. I was going to run mtor but decided to test the giggle. Good thing I did. I ended up leaving at 50% in later rounds

It would be nice if your camera man showed the times at the end. One day I would like to come to down to Orlando, I would like to catch the world street nationals one year.:3gears:

I've been a passenger in that thing. I don't remember our fastest pass but I know it's the fastest freaking thing I've ever been in!

I might need another fix.

This was grudge racing between street cars that often race for $$$$, so we do it all no times so "no one knows what the other car runs" but most of us have GPS or know what our cars run at RPMS = MPH out the door, and what that relates to in ET. The Mustang runs 8.70 at 156MPH and his GPS said he went out the door at 155MPH, and it felt like he had 10MPH on me, which makes sense cause I went thorugh at 7400, which is 146MPH for my car. So it was a 9.30?

The little Mustang flys with a 514CI, big plate and a fogger. He was runner up No Bull champion last year. I was pretty happy to give him as much as did with one plate and 75% of the inches.

Your car is going to surprise you if it makes that much power.

I am thinking it went 6.36 @ 110MPH which is a 9.70. I think we were on 200HP shot and progressive last year. Maybe we can spray all 300 this year if they prep the track. That elevation, and added balast (lol), kills it though.

I took the car to the track finally.

Traction was an issue with the stock suspension. I swear the car was spinning to half track.

best was 11.10@123mph

1.58 60'
4.63 330'
7.23 @ 98mph in the 1/8th

Some proof vid's from the track day.

That's pretty good off the trailer. I am looking at a almost identical slip. 1.57 / 7.15@99MPH / [email protected]. Looks like it lost about a tenth on the front end but finished nice. 10.99 should be no problem with that MPH.

She will haul ass when you get her dialed in,
