There's horsepower, and then there's horsepower

One of the cool things about my new house here in Central Florida is that I get a much closer look at the comings and goings of the Space Shuttle.

This morning, I walked outside and watched the Shuttle launch. I am about 40 miles from Canaveral, but I could see the rocket fire clearly as it blasted off into space. It's an awesome sight!

That's horsepower!

Dang I completly forgot about it. You can see it from St. Augustine. But I bet you have a much better view form where you are.

I was watching on the news as they said the shuttle was surpassing 4,000mph. Now that's fast!

It's even better when your on the runway less than 4 miles away, the sound is awsome!!!

When Columbia disinigrated 3 years ago, it was going Mach 12, I think is over 17,000 miles per hour!!!
