Smokey and the Bandit, forgot about that one. Jackie Gleason was the star of that one, "You moose-twit". "Tick turd". Anyone that tells thier son, "When we get home I'm gonna punch yo momma in the mouth, cause there's no way you came from my loins." he can make any movie a good one.

I just saw gran prix with James Garner, really good movie the stunts weren't too hokey and the cars were driven by the actors to speed, pretty impressive. I also loved the part where james drove up to the track in a 66 shelby gt 350 in the black and gold hurst colors.

Bandit

1.SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT!!!
Albeit cheesy, still some of the most fun you can have on 4 wheels, and with a Special Edition Trans Am w/t-tops!! Of course having a hot chick along doesn't hurt either!!
2.
Off the top of my head:
1. GUMBALL RALLY!! (no doubt, my favorite)
Right on!! :headbang:
I don't know how people always miss this one, it always gets swallowed up by the Cannonball Runs (all 8? of them), just because they had the big stars, but IMHO Gumball is a better and real hardcore car movie!!
I read that the director loved cars so much he insisted that no engine sounds be dubbed in, all the engines you hear are the real deal!!
And a Ferrari racing a Ford Cobra cross country, followed closely by a big-block Camaro and other greats, what could be better?
3. The new "Gone in 60 seconds"
4. "Bullit"
5. "American Grafitti"

The Duel
Christine
Smokey and the Bandit (all of them)

There's more but I had a brain fart

Yeah, that's one of my favorite movies with an awesome chase scene, but I still wouldn't call it a car movie. If I did, I would have to include many others:
"The Transporter"
"The Italian job"
"Blues Brothers" and "Blues Bros. 2K"
and many more...

...
Smokey and the Bandit (all of them)I can't believe ANYONE would comment that the original Gone in 60 Seconds "sucked" and would then go on to say Smokey and the Bandit 3 was good. :hmm:

Good point, I was thinking the same thing myself yesterday. As the Bandit, I must represent, but I have to say Bandit 2 was only marginally ok and Bandit 3 totally blew. :barf: So I hereby officially don't recognize 3 as a Bandit movie. :getout:

I just meant the Bandit movies as a series were better then the poor excuse for a car movie and bad directing that the original Gone in 60 seconds had. Did you see any of that guys other movies? Yikes! All he cared about was mass car accidents of stupid perportions. Only the original Blues brothers pulled that off well. He made part of Gone in 60 seconds 2 (before he died) with a wedge vehicle that just ran up under all sorts of cars. Basically that was the entire movie. He was a one dimensional director when it came to car movies.
Now the mall scene in the Blues brothers was classic. I love how the old Dodge fell to pieces after the final chase.
