What do you recommend someone to do with a car that has a lot of money invested in pro touring mods.

I am building my ride this year and althoug it will not be the nicest around, it will still cost me about $8k just in mods and a little resto work.

I am keeping every receipt but is there an insurance company that is better at covering modified vehicles ?

I am planning on dayly driving mine and I am very worried about theft.

I used to recommend just a standard auto policy, just have the car appraised in advance and keep good records, photos and receipts. However, Grundy and Haggarty have improved their insurance products tremendously to target the type of risks we want to cover but exclude the unreasonable or uninsurable exposures. I would give serious consideration to either Grundy or Haggarty. One of them is in the financing business as well which if properly underwritten and combined with a good risk policy, would seem to be a gold mine at the interest rate they are quoting.
