I know it's been quite some time since I posted or mentioned anything about the Chevelle or myself. First, the car is alive and well. It runs, drives and has even been on the freeway for speedo calibration. I haven't posted pictures because I wanted to wait until it got out of paint jail for the second time. For those that don't know, we had to make a hard decision before SEMA to make the Chevelle non-operational due to time constaints and delayed commitments from other people. This meant that the road to drivability included almost completely taking the car apart and then putting it back together again. After SEMA, the car went into the garage for 30 days untouched as a promise to myself to clear my head before diving back into it after absorbing everyone's reactions and constructive critism. It was a good chance to redo a few items and address a few amatuer mistakes that were easy to correct. The car has already gone back to uphoustery for final fixes and touch-ups and as I said earlier, is currently in paint jail for fixes and redos. Short of having the car tuned, I'm pleased to say it is finally finished. I've layed low intetionally to keep focused and ensure that I stayed on track with my original intent. The car will still be track tested and we'll also have dyno numbers to prove it's overall worth. We are extrodinarilty grateful to those that have patiently waited for me to finish. I've spoken with almost everyone involved on a personal level and to say that I'm happy to finally be writing this about the car's completion is an understatement. I started the car when I was 23 and now I'm 26. From design to final product, everyone involved with this project has sacrificed greately to see it through all in the belief in me and my vision of how this car should be. Each one knows who you are and their will be a formal thank you in a special way as things go further along. To be honest, this car went way over budget and way over build time. I suppose those are the elements that magazine's and forum's never prepare you for. I wanted to alert everyone to the fact that in the next week we will be fully updating the website with details and info on everything that has led up to this point. The car is exciting...it reeks of craziness and you see it rolling down the street and now that I can realize it's potential, I can finally say that all this grief is actually justified.. Again, thanks to everyone that has been so very patient with me. I promise it was woth it. Please standby.
Anyone who needs to be in the loop please call me.

Welcome back Keith!! I can't wait to see what you've cleaned up. Is it impossible to get a short video to hear it? Think we can take a look at it when we go down for SEMA?

Well, to start here's a gallery that a friend hosted for me of all the assembly pictures i could gather up (in no particular order) Most are before SEMA. http://www.custom-multimedia.net/chevelle

I took a video of it about 2 months ago coming out the garage, down the street and back before going to uphoulstery. I shot it in HI8MM. Not sure how to host and post on the web from that format. I'll take suggestions if anyone knows how. I'll post it up if you guys are interested...let me just see how to get it done.

HI8MM, that's analog right?

I believe the most common method to get that onto a PC (and the method I've used) is through a convertor box. Dazzle is one brand.

It allows you to plug the camera rca-jacks into the box, then the box changes the physical connection to put into your PC like via Firewire (1394) or USB or something.

From there, you need a capture program on the PC. Several are available. MGI Videowave, Dazzle, Pinnacle, Windows MovieMaker (free).

Once it's captured, then you can go about compressing it and hosting it somewhere or making a CD in Windows Media Player.

Ummm...yeah. Might be a bit longer before you see a vid. I'll keep working on it. Thanks BA.
