View Full Version : whats the easiest thing to do in your drive way?

i was wondering what is the easiest way to take a body off the frame in your drive way? jacking it up little by little? or... ?

A whole bunch of friends. It took three people to lift my buddies '68 Camaro convertible shell.

Just to give you some ideas, this is what I plan to do when it comes time to "de-sub" the Astro.
1). Pull motor and trans.
2). Un-hook all of the "pertinents" and loosen the sub-frame bolts.
3). Pull the tires and wheels and set the van down on a set of car casters.
4). Lift the front of the van with my engine hoist.
5). Roll the sub-frame out from under on the casters.
6). Build a body cart.
7). Raise the body with the hoist to get it onto the body cart.
This seems to be the easiest method for me as I generally work alone and the engine hoists will be more than capable of lifting the van when it's stripped...
