Hello Pro-Touring,

I have been looking through this forum for several years now and have gotten great information and ideas. I would like to introduce myself and tell a little about my projects. I have always loved muscle cars. I grew up working with my father in his body shop. He and my brother still run a body shop. I went away from the business, but have always had hobby cars and motorcycles and friends cars to work on. Well I love my time with my projects. I have completed a 1980 Camaro Berlinetta just recently and will post pics after I get more experience with the forum. I have pics of my latest project in my PT garage. I started this project last December. It is a 1967 Camaro. I have decided to go pro-touring with this car so I have searched through many forums for ideas. I will be installing Wayne Due front and rear C4 suspension. It will be modernized with 99 Camaro interior (dash, center console and steering column). I have e-mailed some of you in the past and you have all been great help and give great advice. I will be doing most of the work myself and my goal was to have a finished product like Mr. Rupp’s ZO69, but for now I’ll be installing a SBC 383 (Carb at first and later a FIRST EFI system I won on e-bay). I have been on the wall about an LSX, but I have a fresh built 383 and the injection system, so I’ll give this a go first. The car has been completely taken apart I found rust and decided to have it media blasted (Paint stripper was a mess). I found a place (no kidding) around the corner from my house (less than a mile) that does walnut shell blasting and they did a great job. I will be installing DSE mini tubs next week and the WD IRS kit. The best part of this whole project is my 11 year old son and I have been doing this together and he has just asked if we can build him a car when he is ready to drive. Sorry for the lengthy intro. I plan to post more in the future and seek the wonderful advice of the Pro-Touring members. Thanks,
Ron

Welcome to the site, Ron. We're glad to have you.

Have you already bought the WD suspension setup? If not, you might not be able to get it anymore -- see https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21232 -- but I'd hurry and contact Wayne if you haven't already.

Thank you for the welcome. I have all the parts for the WD suspension. I bought it the beginning of this year. It was delivered in April. I have attached a picture of the front end. I have to mount the rear end before I can mount the front end. Thanks again,

Ron

Hi Tony, Thanks for the kind words. Yes they are Coy's wheels 18 x 8 rear and 17 x 7 front. I originally bought them for the 67, but I want to put 18 x 12 rear and 18 x 9 front and do not know what wheels I want to go with yet.

I will take some pics next week as I attempt to install the tubs and IRS. Thanks again,

Ron

I love car names like that! Mine is Inamorata, which means "the one you are passionate about, usually the 'other' woman." Named it this because my wife refers to the car as "the other woman" or "your redhead."

Boy thats a mouth full and I understand. I just took a week of vacation to work on Riptied and at the end of the week my wife made comments about the car getting my full attention and she didn't. She also said she had a dream about the car (I don't know if that is a good thing).

My first car was a 65 442 (I wish I still had it!). Thanks for the post.
