i was looking at my engine dyno sheet and it says 32* but where do i set that at what rpm? its a 383 408hp 433 torq

That will be at full advance, so it depends on your distributor's advance springs/bushings, but typically that is around 3000rpm. You should be able to see the timing stop advancing any more as you bring the rpm up, set it at that point. -Dan

so lock in 32* at 3000rpm anything else i should be doing or watching for thanks.

When you go to set it, make sure you have your vacuum advance unhooked and the line plugged if you are running one. Also, rev it above the 3000rpm mark and make sure the timing does not go any higher.

Did they try any more timing on the dyno? Typically 34-36 degrees works well on most small blocks, even 38 degrees depending on the head and combo. -Dan
