whats up fella's?this is my first post here.been hangin around for awhile but never posted.i was busy at z06vette.com modding my 2004 z06.well,the z is going soon and its onto the next project,a 1981 malibu.its super clean and will most likely undergo a frame off in the next 2 years.going with a big block from the getgo.cant wait,i'm psyched!i'll just be around soaking up the knowledge.i'm a die hard chevy guy(although i do have a ford product, wifey's '05 navigator).i love everything chevy.i figure the entrance price on the mali is pretty reasonable right now.i'm looking to get her up and running (about 15,000) by the spring time.going with a zz454,gmpp single plane manifold with a bg speed demon 750 dp.the 454 is a really good deal on a brand new big block,440 hp @5250 and 500ft/lb @3250!all that at a cr of 9.6-1.thats good because in a year or 2,a d-1 procharger with about 10lbs of boost.i'll run that combo till it blows up,then start fresh with a dart big m block.
gonna throw a dana 60 detroit locked 4.10.i want an electronic 4 spd auto.i love rowing my own but i'm a little leery of setting up my own manual trans.i was thinking of keisler but......i think i'm going to follow the k.i.s.s theory(Keep It Simple Stupid!).cant go wrong with a good auto with a nice converter.maybe not as fun as a stick but it gets the job done!
i woulf like to do a f.a.s.t or big stuff fuel injection system on there before the procharger.
all global west stuff plus a 6 pt cage.
gonna keep it all stock appearing, beside the obvious visual ques such as baer 13" brake system peeking out from behind the torque thrust's.(i know they're getting played out but theystill look soo good!).the interior will be all stock save for the cage and a tach.
i left some stuff out,but i'll keep updating.this is my first all out effort on an olser vehicle and i'm really looking foward to it.i've modded the hell out of brand new cars but my interest's are begining to shift and i'm being pulled back to my hot rod/musclecar roots.
talk to everybody soon,Lee
