I've been pondering this set up for awhile. I have heard that you can run the air bar with mini tubs but I can't find anywhere what the largest tire is that can be used with the air bar? Can anyone fill me in? I was hoping for the 335's but I doubt that will work with the air bar, I'd be willing to go a bit smaller if need be but I was just curious if anyone has a larger tire with the air bar system? Also if I don't plan on running air shocks what is a good coilover shock to run with this setup? Does QA1 have shocks that would work with this? I was thinking the quadralink but now I kind of wanna use the cash in other areas. Any insight woudl be greatly appreciated!

I do know that the minitubs will work with the AirBar, but a 335 is still pushing it. The lower bar bolts in place of the leaf, but it is only 1 1/8" diameter vs. the 2.5" wide leaf.

darren, if you where to relocate the leaf spring perches on the axle tubes, and flip the spacer from the inside of the front bar mount to the outside wouldnt you be able to gain an extra, say 3-4 to an inch of clearance. also, your air bar set up for 1st gen f bodys, looks a lot like chris alstons kit. any differences besides the bags? z 2 l8ter, check out chassisworks if you dont want bags.

Haven't tried it yet. That is our unit Alston is selling. And yes if you want to use coilovers instead of Shockwaves I would use the Varishock. Same shock as what we use in the Shockwave.

i just finished installing a airbar on a 67 , it was a easy install . we also changed to a 9in rear axle , i will say with a little fab work you could move the lower mount to give tire clearance . does the mini tub kit move the stock fram rail ? if it dont move the frame rail you could install the airride bracket then move the lower mount , that would be a easy set up to move .
