he wasn't flamed. He just overreacted when it was pointed out that it's impossible to have body roll when you have no wheel travel because your car rides on the bumpstops. As any board memeber knows, this site is about learning, and being open to criticism. His idea of what was happining to his car was simply wrong. Some of our more advanced members pointed it out. And it hurt his feelings.

Not every thread is going to be a "Nice job!" or some kinda pat on the back. Some times ideas clash, debate heats up and hopfully learning happens.

Sometimes learning is painfull, the differnce is how you react to criticism, do you learn? or take your ball and go home? The thread in question had gobs of valuable tech, and a lessen everyone here who thinks cutting your coils and leaving your car stock otherwise should learn.

I removed personally every "negative" comment and left only helpful tech in it. But we left the thread standing, too much valuable info in it.

Adam decided to take his ball and leave. His choice. A regrettable one.
We can't please everyone. And adam, if you read this, (im sure you will.) I wish you'd come back.

I've spoken with him a couple of times, a lot has to do with the thread TonyL pointed out and he finally realized some other things that were/are going on here, so he thinks that it's better that he and Heather just come in and look once and a while, he just PM'd me on Thursday, and we talked via the keyboard,

I'm not a fan of feelings when it comes to tech. I respected his videos and his desire to beat the hell out of his car at the track (not the ¼ mile). One of the few.

IMO -Sounds to me like he needs some time to grow up and deflate the ego a little. Maybe some time off would help...

Tony’s description of what transpired was quite accurate. Adam requested that his entire thread (which contained useful tech put forth by many of our suspension gurus and experts) be removed "or else". Although we do not like being patronized with demands, we reviewed the thread in an attempt to assess the situation and come to a resolution. Adam essentially felt he was being affronted due to some of the comments contained within the thread (though not the initial negative comments-- those were quickly removed by our moderators) as some comments (per individual perspective) may have alluded to or implied questioning of his vehicle and knowledge. However, myself, Larry and all of the moderators read through the thread several times, specifically searching for these comments, and came to the unanimous conclusion that we were unable to share his sentiments due to his obscure reasoning. We then tried to convince Adam (by sending several individual PMs), that the thread was to his own benefit as well as the membership’s benefit, as all posters (sans the negative comments already removed) were genuinely trying to help him. He refused to accept this and gave us the ultimatum of removing the entire thread from the forum, or else. Due to the tech contained within the thread, and the benefit it provided to our members, we declined to do so.

I tried to explain one simple point to Adam (though my attempts were futile), a point which is the distillation of this entire situation: this message board (and its moderators) exists to provide a media for information exchange and advance the pro-touring genre. When conflict arises, the moderators must act in the best interest of the board (as they did in this situation), in order to preserve this decree. Judging by Adam’s actions in removing his tech posts in the dash install thread, I’d conclude this is a point that Adam does not agree with or does not understand. It’s always unfortunate when a veteran member removes himself from the site, but perhaps one day Adam will return. I know most of us would like to see that.
