I'm trying to think of a gift for my best friend, who is nearing the final stages of restoration on his 69 coupe. Can you guys help me find some parts that are relatively inexpensive (i.e. no more than, say, $200), but really cool, unique, or hard to find? His drivetrain is just a 350 and a th350, the car is sunset red metallic with black stripes, black interior.

If someone were to buy you a kickace gift for your car, what would it be?

If he doesn't already have a car cover that is really nice I would get him one that is. Really good car covers cost a lot and is usually something we all hate to spend our own money on.

Or a metal pro-touring sign and some shirts and stuff would be good too!!!

Goodluck with other ideas.

$200 huh? Well, a tank of gas and a 12-pak should put ya right there in the neighborhood

Well,

If it were me and depending upon how much of a purest he is, I would get him a satellite radio receiver. I think you can purchase some for cars for jsut under 200 dollars. Nothing says cool to me more than listening to satellite radio in an old vintage car!!! Just my .02 cents!!

How about the new G-Tech pro.

Got the old ones for my groomsman, and I think they liked it.

The new ones look awsome and give all kinds of performance data.

Just give him the cash, he probably needs it to help the bank account after building the car.

How about some Marquez design pieces?

A G-tech would be cool. But a real good detail kit would be pretty cool. Maybe the car cover and a detail kit would go hand in hand.

yup, Mequiars has a good detail kit at their site I think.

I was thinking of something like a plaque. (did I spell that right?)

You know, something for my dash or console that says this kickass car was made exclusively for <insert name here> :)

yeah, goofy I know, but it reminds me of those plaques that say "Get in, Sit Down, Hold on & Shut up". :)

Summit Gift certificate??
You could pick something on his car, ....a big brand name, and get an embroidered shirt as part of other gifts too. Guys like wearing car apparrel, but we don't all like to pay for it! lol!

I like my console piece that I got from Year One. Black vinyl, large compartment, cup or seat belt holders. High enough to rest your arm. different and unique.

Oh, I forgot to mention a good RADAR DETECTOR is always of good use by us lead-foots!
