not like I'm asking for approval or anything:), but I've been thinking of an ultimately practical PT car, maybe like a '78-'80 malibu, or a pontiac, any of them are neat. there are SO many 4 doors of those, and they have pretty good lines for a sedan. the only thing I don't like about that generation is the rear door windows are fixed in place. the euros build hot 4 doors, why can't domestic 4 doors be cool too? I drove a '88 BMW M5 once, fastest thing I ever drove, I backed off at 135. all that and room for 5.
anyway, just looking for thoughts.

There is one member here that has built the ultimate sleeper 4-door Malibu. Just one H*** of a car. Try searching for it in the forums. It changed my mind about 4-doors thats for sure. Wagons are also very cool.

I'd say they can be really cool. Try this one on for size.

I too like the 4-door sleeper PT approach. Go for it.

yes, that IS very cool. I just prefer the earlier 4 door, the C pillar has a better shape.
btw, has anyone looked at the new malibu SS? the look of that on a '78 malibu would work nicely.

Coming from a member of the older generation,I only have one thing to say about four door cars: they suck.
Wagons and trucks are an exception.
Feel free to flame away though if it makes you feel better.

no. I sat in the back of one of those. It pissed me off to no end that the freaken back windows don't go down, its just that flappy window folds out.

it's not available anymore, but how cool would that be w/ a T/A shaker hood?

The difference between the Nova/ventura platform and a malibu is that you get a frame with the malibu. Plus, believe it or not, a two door bu with a six cylinder only weighted 2990 when new. I figure with the aluminum heads/ intake, mine should be close to that now. I am not big on the four doors, but I love my two door.
