Anyone fit a 295/45/18 on the back of a 2nd Gen F-body
WITHOUT any mods? Been told they'll fit "no problem"
with 5.5" bs... can anyone confirm or deny??? :dunno:

Or should I just run 285/40/18s??? :hmm:

I would go with 5.75" bs. I am running 315/35/17's on my firebird. I would also try going with a 30 series rather than a 40.

Better yet, go with a 295/35/18. that is what my friend has, decent side wall nice and fat section width

Those are some sweet pics of your cars beebe. I have a74 that I am working on right now that I am putting a 76 formula hood on. It looks pretty sweet, you don't see to many.

I thought about the 295/35/18... StreetKing is running that on the back of his TA (w/5.5bs) with no mods but I think it's too short (26.1" tall) for the look I want. The 295/45/18 is 28.45" tall! Maybe too tall... I had decided on the 285/40/18 (26.97" tall) until I saw the
295/45/18s on the back of Frank Bramble's 68 Firebird...
I'm planning on running a 245/45/17 (25.68" tall) on the front and want a bit of a rake back to front. The 285/40/18 will give me a 1.29" rake... the 295/45/18 would give me a 2.77" rake... maybe too much?!
Just wondering if that big/tall tire will fit the back of a 2nd Gen without any mods or mini-tubbing??? Otherwise I'll just go with the 285/40/18.
Thoughts? Comments?? Thanks guys!

what size rim on the front? use a 255/40/17 on front and a 295/35/18 on the back, i wouldn't go with the 245, that is a pretty skinny tire.

I could run a 255/40/18 on the front (that's 27.04" tall) with the
295/45/18 on the back (28.45" tall) and still have a 1.41" rake?
The 255/40/17 is only 25.03" tall but would work with the 295/35/18
on the back at 26.12" tall... what do you think? Christmas is coming! :santa3:
