I'm helping one of my friends build a steel building in his backyard. It's a 30' by 40' with a 12' ceiling. The concrete was dyed a light grey, and when it cured we cut the expansion joints, and then we set the depth of the blade to about 1/2 inch, and scored the surface for a tile effect. We then dyed every other tile black with this acid dye stuff, and then sealed it. The tile size is 30". Right now, the building is only going to have two 9' by 10' doors, but is designed for a third when and if he decides he needs it. Enjoy! I'll post more pics as we progress, as we can only work on it during the weekends, and a little after work each night!

That looks awesome! What is the brand name of the sealer and dye?
What did you cut it with? Do you have a walk behind? I would like to do that to mine but I have poured walls (frost protection) and I don't know how I would get the cut to go all the way to the wall. It would look like crap having all the cuts stop 4" away from the wall. There must be a way, I'll scratch my head on this one for a bit.

Now THAT is a good idea! It's funny how you get tunnel vision and when another set of eyes looks at it you get the ideas going. I'd be curious to know how slippery this sealer gets when it is wet.

That is gonna be a sweet garage. I hope I'll be able to do something like that one day :fingersx:
How'd you do all the steel work? Was it just a kit that you bought?

The cool! I never saw died concrete like that before. I used VCT tile in mine for the checkerboard pattern.

That is a sweet floor. I am building a 36x48 w/ 14' tall walls for the evergrowing 67 camaro collection. We will be starting the concrete later this year and I will be doing something like that.
How much work was it?

Looks great but where the hell do you guys live that they allow you to build that in your yard?? I extended my garage a few feet and had to go through months of BS just to have to shorten from my orig plans.
I have to move!
