Engine Suggestions

I am getting ready to start looking at engines for my next project. The project will be a 1955 Chevy 150 sedan. I have a 377 stroker sitting, but it needs a complete rebuild and crank. So, I am contemplating what I should run with. Big Block is out. I want to do something that has enough low end to get the shoebox moving quickly. I want it to stay affordable....suggestions?

What kind of shape is that 377 in? If it doesn't have important parts totally wiped out I think you already have your engine, just rebuild it.

I like odd ball engines so I would stay with the 377 you already have. Should do you well.
