Hey guys,
Here's a Dodge Coronet body style you don't see very often. It's got 17" steelies. It's one of a few new pictures I've posted on my website.

What is that, a 75? I'm not sure I've ever seend a 2 door in that style before.

I think it is a 75. And I didn't know they were available in a two-door version either. I thought it was a pretty cool rarity.

I think the Fury around 75-76 was the same body style as well. Looking at that car, it just reinforces in my mind that the mid to late 70s were a definite low point for the American automakers.

Much agreed. There wasn't much that was pretty from back then.

Even though some people think cars like this are ugly...It's still an affordable hot rod that can be different than a Camaro or Mustang and be killer.
How's this for affordable? He bought the car for $350. He put a battery in it, tuned it up and put on some new rolling stock.
I say NICE!

I think it would look good with the side molding and the emblems removed.

The orange is pretty good! I'd also say a matte black would be pretty sweet too, or maybe a matte/gloss black 2 tone would be very fitting.

I wouldn't mind fixing up an old Coronet for my Dad. My first car ride (home from the hospital) was in my Dad's yellow '72 Coronet. Drop in a new 5.7 liter Hemi and you'd have quite a sleeper on your hands.

I'd like to do a Mirada. Remember them? I dug the covered headlights and crisp bodylines (circa 81-82?) Still V-8/RWD and still on the B-body platform I think. You don't see them anymore but I'd love to build one...
(of course, I love Chevy Monzas too, so maybe there's something wrong with me...)

That reminds me of a '77 Monaco I had years ago. Kinda rusty(rear spring perches through the trunk floor) but had a 360 in it, buckets and auto on the floor. Good runner too.

In case anyone is interested, this car just went up for sale and is 35 minutes from me, and I'm in Oberlin quite a bit on the weekends (my favorite bar is there)

heh, 77 Fury Sport wheels?!:)
They look like a red version of what you see on General Lee's, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. Is it me or are they 4-lug?

Nothing wrong with you. I bought a new '77 Monza Mirage off the showroom floor. For those of you who have never seen one, they had add-on bodywork to make them look like an IMSA clone. I added some engine mods, some Minilite wheels, and eventually painted the car Black. Sure wish I had it back. The fellow I sold it too still has it parked in his back yard.

Damn, ya'll got me feelin really old with this thread. I bought (traded a 74 vette on it) a brand new Dodge Charger Daytona in 76. The trade was for a grand total of $764. The Charger looked just like that car, sans the custom striping on it. What a POS! 360ci with at least 125hp. Never again, could not give me one.
