I finished wiring up the car with the American Auto Wire Classic update harness, and integrated the stock( I removed all the unneeded stuff myself) LT1 harness into it. So that being the last hurdle, I filled up the oil and water, and it fired right up. Sounds pretty sick too. It seems kinda lame now, looking back, that its been 4 years since I bought the engine, but I wanted to do it all myself, as time/money allowed, so what can ya do?
I got my 3-1/2" alum. drive shaft with 1350 spicers from I.E. Driveline last week too.
If the brake system fills without leaks, and bleeds O.K.:fingersx: , I should be able to drive it for the first time in 4-1/2 years, by next week.
I've finally started updating my build up web site too, I broke it down into galleries, and added new pics and better descriptions, have a look at the link below.

Very sweet! 4-1/2 years is a long time, looks like it was worth it though! Good job!

I've been here and there. I haven't been posting much, not too much free time, but I do lurk through and read whats going on now and then.
I got the notice that I had to pack up my stuff and move out of the space I've been renting for the past 3 years, so I've been doing the mad dash to get at least one of my project cars running ( I still have the 70 RS/SS untouched since I bought it 3 years ago.)
So in the past 6 weeks I completely rewired the car and the LT1/T56 harness, bent up and installed all new brake lines, finished the fuel system, finished the cooling system, built a custom dash for my Autometer gauges, routed E-brake cables, installed exhaust system, gas tank, rear suspension, batteries in trunk, and a few odds and ends too.
The good news is I found a new place for my cars, thats twice the size, and I should be able to DRIVE the 69 over there this time.
I'll let ya know how the first drive goes.

Thanks Rybar, I had the rolling chassis mocked up 2 years ago, but it had no wiring, gauges, plumbing, rear shock mounts, etc. so there was still a lot to do, but it looked done on the outside. Those were also some of the last pictures I had posted (till recently) so it looked done on the build up site l guess.
LT1chevelle, I'm using 3/4 length Hedman HTC headers, mated to custom made 3" collectors that are welded to a flowmaster American thunder system, with 40 series DeltaFlows.
Theres lots of pics on my site, in the exhaust gallery.
I'll try to record to sound with my digicam, but not sure how to post it.

Hey thanks... the Fudd's is on El Toro off the 5 freeway in Lake Forest. Would be a bit of a drive for you but let me know if you ever come down! John Force Race Station in Yorba Linda is closer, but still a drive - I hope to make it there before the last cruise in October but it will be a stretch since I haven't delivered the car to the interior shop yet. Anyway, great to see you posting again - get that car on the road!

what kind of paint did you use on the exhaust? is it that anidized paint from dupli color? it looks gr8 w/e it is

Well the Brakes bled great, no leaks, and nice firm pedal about half way down.
I gotta try a new IAC valve, it idles at 2000 rpm. I tried cleaning it but still the same thing.
The drive shaft looks like its gonna work out too, it barely fits between the pipes with the rear on jack stands, but should be fine on its wheels.

The exhaust was painted with duplicolor 1200* ****e. I just was going to cover the welds, but it looked good , so I did the whole pipes. Unfortunately I guess the collectors get hotter than 1200* 'cause that crap bubbled all up and smoked, the first time I fired the engine. I want to jet hot coat the pipes some time down the road, but shipping would be pretty steep. I need to find a place local.
Great job! I love Hugger Orange! Very  ! It's gonna be bad to the bone. What are you doing on the interior?

Thanks,
the interior is still stock, Deluxe Houndstooth. I made a custom gauge mounting area, by cutting up the stock piece and grafting in a steel section for the gauges ( pics soon ).
I plan to replace the front seats with something that has better support, and harness holes, but have yet to find a seat that feels comfortable to me ( 6 ft. 230lbs. (ALL MUSCLE :naughty: ) that I can justify spending the cash on ( afford ). I was thinking of some Corbeau TRS, but I've heard they sit up kinda high.
I will probably be adding a roll bar for mounting points for 5 point harnesses soon too.
When the sound of the exhaust looses its thrill, I will install a nice stereo and build a console and kickpanels for speakers.
