I need a good quality spring compressor for my front springs. I've been through several units and a craftsman compressor. The problem is that after a few uses the threaded rod strips and usually at the worst time. I keep the treads lubricated but they just dont seem to last.
I'm in the process of dialing in my front suspension which is requiring me to pull the springs out to try different things.
This is on my 86 MCSS that has the SC&C G5 front spindles and brakes, Pole position upper A Arms, Spohn lower A Arms and QA1 shocks.

Can someone please recommend a good unit that will last more then 4-5 uses?

Are you lubing them with grease? They definitely should not strip! Yikes!!!

Both KD and S&G Tool make the ones you drop down through the shock hole. Either should work fine. The KD is part# 3450 and the S&G is either 62200 or 62900.

Any of these should work fine, but you have to lube the threads with grease, no WD-40 or even oil.

Shiny Side Up!
