Hey guys, I just recieved my 18's I ordered like 3 months ago today, well I ordered 18x8 fronts with 5" BS and 18x10 rears with 5.5" BS. DSE recommended 4-7/8" for the fronts and 5-5/8" for the rears, but ARE only makes the wheels in 1/2" increments.

Well I recieved them, and all four wheels have 5" BS, there is no way the 10's are gonna work with that BS. Now I have to send them back.

Question is, I did some re-measuring with the wheel on there. It seems I have more than an inch to play with. I've read guys are successful with 18x10 and even 20x10 with 5.75" BS, but on my car it seems like I can go with a 6" BS.

Should I re-order the 18x10's with 5.5" BS like I originally planned or get them with 6" BS

Please help me out here!!!

Measure BOTH sides... The current rear may be offset a bit one side to the other so make sure you know exactly where it is at before re-ordering. A 6" backspacing would be slightly better for bearing life over a 5.5 but it really isn't going to make that much of a difference.
Another thing to think about is tire sidewall width. You didn't say what tire you were going to use but the wider rim may push the sidewall into the fender or spring so check that out also.

You need to measure clearance on both sides of the car like Mark said!! Otherwise you might change the wheels and actually end up trying to reposition the rear end and everything else. It's allways better to err on the "room to spare" side than the "ohh no enough space, and now I need to minitub, relocate leafs, hammer fenderwells, OR SELL MY NEW RIMS and try again" side of the equation!

It's their mistake, don't let them rush you into any decisions! They messed up your order so they should wait for you!

When I ordereded my Fab9 from Chris Alstons they beat me to death on the measurements. They made no compromises, in fact I ordered the rear 1/4 short just in case. This way I can use thin spacers if I need to, instead of redoing the entire housing.

I have measured my rear-end and it's out by 1/16" so I think on that end I am safe.

If you go by this diagram: http://www.bigblockdart.com/wheelspacing/index.shtml

These are the measurements I got before I rolled the lips.

Drivers side:
A = 5-1/8"
B = 6-3/4"
C = 11-7/8"

Pass side:
A = 5-3/16"
B = 6-11/16"
C = 11-7/8"

The chart doesn't show the leaf spring pack or the shock body... These will generally be the closest things to the wheel/tire as the springs run outboard of the inner wheel well. You may want to measure from the wheel mounting face to the spring pack on the front and back sides of the wheel centerline. I believe the springs run at an angle front to back and will probably be wider towards the front so measure the distance at the approximate outside radius of the rear tire.
