Jalopnik is an auto news site. I check it every day for up to the day (and sometimes minute) auto industry news and junk.

The last pic is the first one I've seen with the '69 and '09 together. Man, the new car looks HUGE compared to the classic. I'm sure the angle has a little to do with it, but it is still much larger proportional-wise than it's predecessor. Has anyone guesstimated a weight yet? 2 tons plus?

Trapin said something about a target weight of 3500. The Chally is supposed to be a porky 4100.

Did anybody else notice the "Ford" sign in the first pic? What are they target marketing with that sign or something??

That's pretty cool. I've heard about that. Some of the guys here who live on the west side have talked about seeing that. I'm sure it'll be on display at the Cruise this weekend.

I'll bet you it is closer to 4300. That is Hawaii 5-0 Dodge big. :)

I passed that rig on my way down to Woodward Friday night. It is definitly an eye catched. In general there were a lot of Camaros on Woodward.

I would expect the trailer to be parked at one of the big GM displays; maybe at 15 mile.

That's the great thing about Woodward. A lot of people think it's just one day, but actually it is probably packed out there right now. Every night this week will see thousands of cars cruising the strip. Some friends of mine and I are heading out Friday night.

There have been people on lawn chairs for almost two weeks already. The bad part is that there is a LARGE police presence, especially in Royal Oak. They have been writing a large number of tickets according to other forums I'm on. I would say head down before Friday if possible. Last year, we went the Friday before and it was stop and go by 7-8. Of course, if you are there after 10:30, there are a lot of cars left, and much fewer police.

The concept had a badge stating a weight of 4180. Hopefully the Camaro is no where near that.

I dunno... car weights are up. The new Ferrari 599 weighs 3800lbs.

I don't really put much emphasis on weight, unless the vehicle is going to be involved in competition. For me, I'll be happy with an SS version, LS3 and 6 speed gearbox. If it's 4100 lbs....it's 4100 lbs. As long as it hauls ass, is fun to drive and looks cool...you won't hear any complaints from me.

I will be a bit disappointed if it is that porky. that is more than my 85 lesabre weighs which is a big car with a heavy olds motor in it.

Off topic but why are the vehicle weights increasing every year? Light motors all the metal is thinner. Are the interiors that heavy?
