This is what makes me nervous:

"GM did not announce pricing for the new Camaro, but Peper noted that the car's appeal in its previous versions had been based on a sticker price that put it "within the reach of many new-car buyers.""

Define many. Maybe I'm splitting hairs but I would have liked to hear most new-car buyers. High pricing will kill the future of this car. They have to offer a fun to drive base model V6 well under $25K in order to appeal to that demographic. Those are the high volume cars that will determine the lifespan of the Camaro, not the big hp, low volume, premium level units. Look at the other cars in that under $25K segment that are doing very well. What would draw those prospective buyers into Chevy showrooms to buy a 2 door RWD car (aside from their dads saying how great the Camaro used to be)?

To go on sale in 2009???? That's disapointing.

No....that's building cars.

These things aren't easy to snap together anymore like they were back in the 60's. A lot goes into them. And the governmental requirements and standards we have to meet makes it an ever increasing challenge.

Production starts late '08 and you will start seeing them on the road around Feburary/March of '09. We could probably speed it up a year if we wanted to....but why risk losing quality by going too fast?

I've waited this long....I can wait another 2 years. Besides....I have another Camaro in the garage that will keep me busy.

I hope we don't see too much ADM (adjusted dealer markup) going on.

I have this sick feeling (duh) that the hot optioned cars will be hard to put your hands on and they will command a premium. Not a huge deal as the market will eventually equalize.

I was a little pissed that the car was not more retro when we first saw it but I have to tell you that it is really growing on me and I really like it. How was that for a run-on sentance? LOL

I told my wife about the announcement yesterday evening and her response to my 7 month old was: "Daddy's getting a new car" (I Love my wife) :seizure:

I'm not lucky enough to have a father who kept any of his vast array of kick a$$ cars down the years. :crying: So This one is a car I'll buy new, exactly how I want it, and eventually I'll pass down to my son. (eventually)

Won't keep me from the old stuff, It's just a great opporunity to create an heirloom to pass on. :woot:

It would be one worn out heirloom by the time I pass it down!! :drive1:
Maybe my son could make a PT car out of it in 30 years.
