Wow - early. I'll be in the market next year.

Body lines are much more defined, I like that.

For the first time in 10 years I like the GMC better than the Chevy. I'm a little disappointed in the vanilla styling. They couldn't come up with anything bolder or more memorable than that in that time? Other than badges, it's pretty anonymous. I'm slightly disappointed but I'd still buy one.

Chevy should have used the nose from the Tahoe/Suburban/Avalanche

Intresting to see two completely different dash layouts for the LT and LTZ. I agree, though, they look good....but not great.

I like the new avalanche very much.

The Avalanche is awesome. I don't know that I dig the body lines overall though. It is too smoothed out. My '03 has more distinct lines.

WOW, the profile looks like the newest Ford.

How long till a custom truck enthusiast grafts the front end from a suburban onto one of those?

3..
2..
1..

Im getting a Suburban this winter. Nicest SUV i've ever seen/driven.
Gm out did itself. there arent enough accolades for it.

And that LTZ dash is directly from the Suburban.

I'm surprized that I see more 07 Escalades and Yukons than Tahoes. An 07 Escalade nose on the new Silverado would be nice....needs edgier fender flares though.

Anyone notice that weird black strip of plastic above the stereo on the LTZ? Why didn't they wrap the wood grain trim over that? It looks like an afterthought filler piece.

that's no "black strip" its a buldge, here's a different angle.

or are you talking about that thin peice at the top of stereo? could be for different sized decks?

What irks me is the steering column mounted shifter. Looks much better if it were a center console shifter and would also clear the view to some gauges on the dash. Other than bland styling on the exterior, all else looks good to me. What auto trans will be in it? Can't be a four speed again.

Yeah, I'm talking about the thin piece. I would guess that's what it's for but this model shows the Nav screen which occupies the most space, do the lower level stereos have a bigger black strip? The weird part is that I saw a photo months ago from the Tahoe concept truck that had wood grain wrapping up and over. I'll try to dig it up.

My bet is it's dvd-based nav, and that's where the nav disc goes. The peice snaps off, then snaps back into place, as you don't ever need to take it out. At least that's the way it is on my 300c.

I like a column mounted shifter in a non-performance application like a truck. Our Pilot has that; it makes the console much more useable. I can’t comment on the gauge blocking, every car I have ever owned with tilt, when I put the wheel where I want it, I can’t see the damn gauges anyway.

Trust me, the interior is a work of art. I own an '07 Tahoe and love it.

Exterior, I am glad I got a 06. Now if I can just graft that dash into it, HUM!

a center console shifter and would also clear the view to some gauges on the dash.Once it is in gear nothing is obstructed. and as BonzoHansen Said, it frees up usable console space.

At first I thought it was a Tundra with a new grill, lol.

The interior looks nice though.

I don't care for the LTz interior at all. Looks like the interior of the new Tahoe, that looks like something I would see in a foreign car (Jap, German). I like the LT dash but not better than my 2003 LT. I don't care for the exterior of any of the new GM vehicles (Tahoe, Avalanche, or this Silverado, don't care at all for the Colorado & Canyon. About the only thing of GM that I really like in the trick field is the Trail Blazer SS.

Looks like a Tundra/ F150 to me, all square and boxy!! along with the colorado and other small trucks, blah!

I hadn't even read any comments on it yet when I thought to myself , "It looks like a Tundra.". I think the Tahoe looks like an Explorer too.

A plastic bumper?

The interior is pretty nice looking. It looks pretty comfortable but I'm surprised they still put the headlight switch on the dashboard. I could do without the column shifter, but that's just my taste.

And a promo picture in beige? Ca'mon, show it in red, black, blue, something that stands out!

A four speed automatic will be used on most models with an optional six speed automatic on some models. Most (if not all) engines will have aluminum blocks and DOD.

it looks to much like a ford to me.. i personnaly like the tahoe front end better then the yukon and escalade front ends. much more cleaner to me but ya if you removed the gmc emblems i bet you could tell some ppl it was a new ford truck. just my opinion
