I helped a friend install a MarkVIII last Thursday and thought I would share. I made a custom pulley to clear the fan and tabs were made on the bottom of the summit radiator to rest the fan in and bolt on the top. I think it all looks nice. Now if I can get him to buy a controller.

Man, Kevin-talk about a 1/4" of clearance or so! Wow...looks good, did you trim the shroud, too? What else have you done to your Camaro? I thought about strolling up your way for another visit sometime soon. I've got a question about your Dakota Digital dash. -Jabin

Jabin, I haven't done much on my car I have been helping everyone else. I helped dad finish his car and helped my friend. Yes the fan was trimmed 1/2 inch. I had my car at the frame shop after removing the sub frame connectors and found I must have a weak front drivers spring that makes it appear to sit to high on the right rear. You are more that welcome to come down and hang out possibly go for a spin. I added pictures of friends car and dad's.

Are you using a short water pump? I'm using a long pump in my 69 and only have about 3.5" between my rad. and belt tensioner (12 rib D1SC).

If I remember right it is a long waterpump. The radiator support has been cut open quite a bit. It has a huge(30X18 or something like that) aluminum 2 row summit radiator. Is the 3 1/2 to the pulley? We gained a couple of inches at the pulley(custom). Take a picture of you set up and I'll try to see what is diffrent.

I have almost 5" to the w/p pulley. My problem is with my custom belt tensioner I'm using. The tens. is from a cummins L10 that was orig. used an 8 rib pulley that I replaced with a 12 rib. That is where I'm only getting the 3.5" clearance. I went out and got a mechanical fan today, maybe that will work a little better.
