Please do not answer with "whatever someone is willing to pay" as there should be some sort of average market value currently.

How much is a 1970 454 engine approximately worth?
Its a complete longblock with all the brackets.
Its not the high horsepower Chevelle or vette engine.
It basically needs to be rebuilt.
What casting numbers would be on the block and heads to confirm a 1970 engine?

On the back of the bellhousing flange that the transmission bolts too is the casting number and casting date. The casting number is on the drivers side. You are looking for a number 3963512 for a 70 motor. Then the casting date is in smaller 1/4" letters and numbers, it will be something like B 12 70 or 0. Get me those numbers, and also the stamped number off the front of the deck and I will tell you what you have.
