Today Ironhide was spotted on a trailer headed through LA.

Sadly no shots of the front, but i did get a good look at it. It appeared to be a heavily modified Sierra 3500 GMC. The front was more altered than the back. Vents on each side of a very angular hood and large, square headlamps made up the front of the vehicle.

I, for one, am freekin excited about this movie. My mom owned a consignment shop when I was a kid, and one time, a lady brought in all of her kid's toys....sucks to be him, but for me...I had pretty much every transformer, every gi joe, all the planes, the helicopters, the tanks, the entire aircraft carrier, over a hundred hotwheels...it was incredible. I played with most of the transformers until they literally fell apart.

I think if they get the CGI done right this movie will be one of the best adaptations ever.

From what I've read, this is the most CGI intensive movie to date. It should be impossible to tell where the CGI starts and the real ends.
That sounds good to me. Next summer is the release date correct?

I would have guessed so, there'll be a lot I'm sure. This'll give a little hope for a live action adaptation Evangelion movie too if it goes well.
As for Peter Cullen being Optimus Prime, that's just all too cool. He's been doing voiceovers on Cartoon Network (I think) so I knew he was still around, it's just cool the picked him up again for the role.

Not to get off topic, but why was Cobra's **** always cooler than Joe's? Am I messed up for liking Cobra more? They got it right in Transformers though, the deceptapukes sucked!

I was all for this movie until the latest designs came out. They suck. they look like bionicles or something. Not transformers. This was such an easy movie to get right. Im so discusted right now. So many people are pissed, michael bays website crashed, the producer had to lock his board down and people are sending in death threats.
It'd be like if they decided to remove superman's cape, and take away his strength and ability to fly.

"incinerator" (the final name of this character is still under debate) looks the least dumb out of the three, but still...come on, these are transformers. They look like an airplane or a car or a boat or a gun, then they turn into giant kickass robots. They are not giant kickass robots that can turn into some reasonable facsimile of an alien scorpion airplane thingy that noone has ever seen before.

I will reserve judgement on the new designs untill I see them on the big screen, but I can understand why people would be unhappy.

this kinda reminds me of the american godzilla movie. they tried realy hard to make godzilla really cool and "badass" looking, which ended up losing all the original and memorable characteristics of the character.
i for one think the new drawings of megatron look cool, but not as megatron.
the death threats and serious problems people might be having because of these drawings are just ridiculous though.

yeah. the "Im going to fly to LA and shoot you in the face with a shotgun." kind. Im a fan and all, but damn. That's a bit much.
There's talk of boycotting the movie, protesting at the comicon etc.
There is a glimmer of hope though. the guy who is the CCO of Hasbro has come out today to try and calm things down. Saying stuff like "he'll change throughout the movie, he wont always look this way or that."
without trying to give anything away.

Megatron was a gun, not an alien jet. And they're making the characters look retarded. I think I'm gonna go watch the cartoons on DVD again.

Megatron actually was a jet. And a tank and a few other iterations throughout comic books. As long as he has a big ass gun on his arm I'm ok with it.
The image above is his "fresh from cybertron" look, It changes later, to a more appropriate and familiar form.

Well, I think the characters look badass in the pics, but i have to agree they should have stuck with how they were originally, not some modern version.
That's a huge slap in the face though to make Optimus Prime a standard rig instead of cab over after showing that teaser. Love the Transformer playboy mudflaps though.
