View Full Version : External fuel pump for EFI conversion
I'm in the process of putting together my '69 Camaro LS1/T56 project. I have a sumped tank and will be running a external fuel pump and return style regulator.
Any one have coments on the Weldon 600-A and the Bosch 420?
Will be running aprox. 440rwhp. I know these pumps are a little over kill, but I only want to do the fuel system once.
I don't want to run a external Walbro.
Thanks

I've been running an SX external pump now for several years and have had excellent luck with it, but if I were doing it again (or my SX dies) I will be using two of the external Bosch pumps sized appropriately.

The 0-580-254-044 is the highest flow version they make, you may be able to get away with one step smaller safely which will cut down on fuel heating.

I'm using an Aeromotive A1000, and it is LOUD.
But now that the car is running, it doesn't seem so loud anymore. :)

I was also considering the A1000 also. I read a post of a guy complaining about the A1000 noise and vibration. He put a set of MSD vibration mounts and says its much, much better.
After more research, I think I'm going with the Weldon 600A.

The Weldon 600A should do what you need to do. Weldon has a good product, give them a call or check with Kinsler they offer them also.

What's wrong with walbro?
Nothing wrong with the Walbro in tank pumps. I had one in my 12 sec. Buick T-Type. But, I want room to grow, HP wise.

My A1000 is really quiet, cannot even hear it when the car is running. It is also the best bang for buck, It will handle ANYTHING you will throw at it.
