Any thoughts on even how to begin I am fairly new to welding so I thought I would get some suggestions, or should I find some one reputable to do the job and pay them. (car is in the Inland empire)

I would find another car to cut the dash out of. You could fabricate it, but that would be alot of work.

Ditto. I just finished helping a friend of mine fab that up on his '69 and it SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED.

It can be done, though, if you really want to.

Too much work!!

Find another dash, or consider an aftermarket racing dash from somebody like Alston or Jeg's.

I chose my words carefully. :scared:

It took me two solid weekends to do a similar job on mine, and I was covered in grinding dust and metal particles. A lot of work! Next time, I'll get a replacement and do it spot-welding style.
