You sure the bird can handle it?? I'll donate my Nova a a test bed if needed, but we might spread the 36 yr old 12 bolt all over the ground!!

looks good man

but i'd put a 2x4 supporting the crank pully/harmonic balancer because thats a big motor for a lil HF stand

If you get a chance can you tell me the primary & secondary jet sizes as well as the primary power valve size in that QF carb? I'm having issues with my 572 and I'm interested to see how your 540 is jetted, especially since it's been dynoed.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info RestMod! The info helps and hurts at the same time. My 572 is running the EXACT same carb set up and stumbles/surges when holding a contstant speed.

Do you know what timing is set to (both initial and advanced)?

DAN! A 540 and a 572 won't like the same jetting. Go. Up. Ten. Sizes. Please.

LOL - I will, I will. Matt, I'm heeding your advice, really:worship:. I'm just trying to get somewhat of a comparison. Once I get the broken axle replaced I'll go up to 95 in the primary.

Sorry for the hijack Restomod.

Are there a lot of Bowers Racing Customers on this site??

It looks like a lot of Horsepower for the money.

Thanks,

I think i may be the first.he is easy to deal with and he is coming to houston this summer with his family and we are going to meet up.he is not using cheap parts, the block is a merlin 3 ,heads are rhs pro topline aluminum, ultradyne cam and quick fuel carb and lots of other goodies.

I was just looking at some Bowers crate motors on racingjunk.com and then looked at their website. Looks like a nice outfit and good bang for buck. Your dyno numbers are impressive! Do you mind sharing cam specs on that thing? I assume it is solid roller? What is the compression?

thanks

you're STILL having problems w/ that 572? I thought GM was looking into cam issues w/ it?
