Big brake and spindle advice

Not one to leave well enough alone I ahve decided to pitch the tiny 10.5" SSBC rotors I have on my 65 GTO and move up to larger brake kit.

I am thinking about installing a Baer Track kit. While I am at it, I think I will reitre my drop spindles and go with a B-Body spindles. I think I can acheive the 2" drop I currently have by cutting one coil of my springs.

Since I used this set up before I meet you guys and am not happy, I could use some advice.

Will this work?
Is there a more cost effective option?
Is there a relatively similar costing option that is better?
Any other pros or cons I have missed?

FYI: I am running 17X8 wheels with 4.5" of backspacing if this matters.

If you get the Baer Track kit, it can be assembled on a 2" drop spindle. If it's working for you now, stay with it.

Lose the drop spindles and go with a spring-drop.

Those drop spindles are meant for G-bodies and S10s, and are really a poor design for an A-body. They give you all of the negatives of a B-body spindle (steer-arm related issues), without any of the benefits (better camber-curve and larger 12" brakes)

The best option on a reasonable budget would be a stock A-body spindle with tall ball-joints from www.scandc.com and 13" C5 brakes from www.kore3.com

Or, for not too much more, the AFX spindle from ATS with SC&C's steer arm.

Just to let you know, I had a set of SSBC 12" drop spindle brakes. They cut off the caliper mounting "cage" and drilled the spindle for a bracket to hold a PBR 2-piston caliper. So you can put larger brakes on that spindle if you want. They used a 1LE Camaro front rotor. I may still have picts at home of the setup, let me know and I can email them. But Derek's suggestion would be better.

Or, for not too much more, the AFX spindle from ATS with SC&C's steer arm.

Technically it is our steering arm, Marcus just helped develop it with us- but we make it.

Derek said it. The B sway is an idea who`s time is past. There are MUCH better solutions these days. ATS`s AFX spindles are the top choice here. We offer them as a package with our adj. upper arms. They`re really nice spindles,light,strong and they accept all C5/C6 brake parts. We make steering arms but not for AFX spindles,they`re Tyler`s babies. :) For the same price as a Baer brake system you can have a whole suspension package with factory C5 brakes. If you want to match Baer rear brakes they have a new C5 Decelarotor that matches perfectly for less money than the Eradispeed rotors.
We can also do amazing things with the original Chevelle spindles with our Street Comp Stage 2 and 2-Plus packages. Great geometry and handling,much improved bumpsteer just heavier than the AFX spindles,no BIG C5 bearing packs and you still need to buy a brake package of some kind. Mark SC&C

Guess what?

After only 7 months of waiting, we have finally recieved our steering arms. They are very worth the wait. Shipping all pending orders starting in the AM.

Huge thanks to Marcus for the R&D on the steering arms and geometry testing to complete our A body package. We just set down the first G body with a set of AFX spindles last night. It will be great to drive this sucker with the new spindles/brakes.

Heh.... And I only said to get the Baer kit on a drop spindle because it was the most cost effective. Damn you guys are a bad influence on the wallet.
