Simple question:

I am purchasing all the components and fluids for a cam swap. How much coolant is in a 1968 Camaro radiator system? I believe it has the stock rad. that has been re-cored. Advanced Auto thinks 3 to 4 gallons. That just seemed like alot to me.

Thanks,

I'm guessing more like 2 to 3 the most.

I think the "rule of thumb" is like a gallon in the engine and a gallon to 1.5 or so in the rad.

I always add 1 gallon of water and 1 gallon of coolant to start then add 50/50 mix till it is full.

yep! :twothumbs
when I flushed my system out last time, and after draining the rad the final time being left with clean water in the remainder of the system, I added 1 gallon of straight antifreeze, then topped of with 50/50.
