What is the best way to purchase a LS2 and what else I need to run a LS2 in my 69? I know I will be getting all of the cutom stuff needed from T56.com. I just see so many ways from buying a crate engine and ECU, harness to buying a take out, but which is really the way to go?

I bought a LS2/t56 gto pullout sold the computer/harness
and put on a Speartech harness with LS1 computer, had to
use LS1 knock sensors and LS1 alternator $110 from Murrays Auto.
Used a vette pedal and module to control the drive by wire T.B.
Worked out well. Also the modified ATS f-body t56 hydraulics don't
work with the gto slave must switch to a f body -different fitting.

Just depends on how much know-how you have, how much of your time you want to spend on it, and what your goals are. Some people want "turn key" 500hp and some want a junk yard take out to pursue their particular plans.

The problem with LS2 pull out engines is that they are hard to find. Finding an LS1 is easy.

I was very happy with my crate engine, but you need to budget in a few grand for brackets, harness, ECU and accesories.

I was either going to go eBay where there is a LS2 and T56 with ecu out of a 05 Goat or I'm going the crate route and a TKO600. Whats needed to bump up to the 500 horse mark I have been told just a cam change and ecu mod. Is it really that easy? After dealing small block gen 1 chevys for so long I have decided its time to change.

It would be difficult to attain 500 with a cam swap. We make about 550 at the flywheel with our stroked LS2.
