Why to turbo cars run this, check the attached pic, kind of mesh piping? Thanks, David

My guess is that it has some give when it expands & contracts.

It has a lot of uses.

First being that stainless tubing has a very high thermal expansion rate. So when it's 1200F in there it moves around quite a bit. If you don't have some flex sections it will crack and break.

Also on some setups the turbos are not hard mounted to the engine, but to a frame section. In this case (unless you use solid motor mounts) there needs to be some room for movement and flex in the system.

And even if the turbo(s) are mounted to the motor, you need a flex section since the exhaust is usually mounted to the chassis.
