Today my door bell rings and as usual I'm sure it's someone trying to sell me the latest weight loss or weight gain item but not today. I'm on my way downstairs to make some coffee to stay awake. I've been sitting in front of my pc for the last 6+ hours and I'm getting tired. Low and behold Ron Dread happens to be out in his killer '68 twin turbo Camaro testing out the local race gas. (which I might add didn't go up in price as much as I thought it would)
Anyway, after my neighbors come out and drool over it we go for a spin. Wouldn't you know it, on the corner just as we pull out of the complex I live in we pass a cop sitting on the side of the road. Lucky for us she is sitting there with the windows rolled up and it's a pretty hot day and she has the A/C cranked up. Ron's car is not exactly what I would call quite. In fact, I thought the turbos would have made it even quieter but oh well. I LOVE the sound and she didn't pull us over. While I don't want to say how fast we were going I can tell you that thing pulls like nothing I have ever been in. Feeling the rear end drift a little sideways at triple digit speeds is enough to make you hang on to the cage with both hands.
I don't need that coffee anymore. :3gears:
Stop by any time Ron.

Anytime Larry...Just don't call me in the mornings to wake you up...:rotfl:
I'm having a blast with this thing...This is why I built it, right!
Is it wrong that I want more? That didn't take long...
725hp is fun, but I want more already. The 100 oct fuel got me another pound of boost (13 to 14 psig) which I figure is good for approx another 20hp. (Couldn't tell, could you Larry) It was a hot and humid day out so I'm sure it was down a little bit. Real race fuel and 17psig boost and I'm hoping to see the magic 800hp.
I love it when it just keeps accelerating to 7500rpm.:3gears:
As Larry said....Triple digits come very fast...

haha not at all. We've all been there. Though I have to say you're kinda at the turning point. 800hp and you think you want more. Get to 1k rwhp and you'll probably start to say ok I think this is enough. 1200rwhp and it's just a little out of hand. Wheel spin at 160mph is a bit much for just about anyone, and surely enough to make just about ANY passenger squeal like a little girl. :ssst:
Take up crack, it's cheaper than this HP addiction. :banghead:

Ron,
I like the way you set up those remote oil filter mounts. Couple of questions for ya:
Where did you get the filter setup?
How did you finish off the area where your rear seat once lived?
Love the Stack dash. I'm considering the same setup. Hows it working for you? Anything tough regarding its integration into the rest of the systems in the car?

Doubt it!
Fords are the only ones that use 302 cubes. You don't see any chevy's with less then 350 cubes do you! OK Chevy used the 302 and 327 in the early day's, but they were all changed out. What does that tell you? Just Playin with ya!:spank2:

* Double filter assembly was purchased at Hawaii Racing in Simi Valley Calif.
* Interior not yet complete, but their will be no rear seats. Will all be finished off with black leather, carpet and some cool trim to match the exterior. Still working on the sound system design. Keeping it light is an issue.
*Cannot go wrong with the Stack Dash (Racing Stuff) You will be running new wires and sensors. I used the 18 circuit Painless system, but the engine bay I made all custom. I integrated the Accel DFI Gen 7 as well. No factory wiring here. Time consuming.

What readouts do you have on that particular model?
I am looking to have: oil P, oil T, water T, volts and fuel level. If I'm not mistaken the Stack units do not have a fuel level output, but do have a fuel low warning. I suppose I could put a small auto-meter fuel gauge next to the Stack unit.

This car is incredible. It has to be one of my most favorite Camaro's i've seen.
I need more pics of the car and the build any chance you have a website with more pictures?

Everything you need... ST8110SR (I don't remember this one when I got mine. Maybe upgraded?)
I have the Stack ST8130 http://www.stackinc.com/st8130.html
It doesn't have boost or fuel pressure but I added those gauges along with EGT, A/F and trans temp.
These come with a hefty price. I got mine for around $1200. The ST8110SR I'm sure is more like $1500
