I have just put a rebuilt 400 motor in my 68 Firebird and it is overheating. I have a stock water pump and radiator which worked fine prior to the rebuild. My concern is that it does not seem like I am getting any coolant flow through the radiator, the upper hose never gets hot. I have pulled the thermostat and get the same thing. Is there any way to check and see if the water pump is acutally circulating coolant? How can I tell if the radiator is blocked? Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

Try a new water pump divider plate.
