Anyone know of any companies that offer tubular lower A arms for 82-92 Firebirds and Camaros that allow use of stock type coil springs such as OE, Eibach, etc.? Provide web addresses if possible.

Just curious as to why?

Spohn makes them but people have been complaining about them dropping the car, which they werent designed to do. Supposed to be built to stock demensions..i dont know if it was a misalignment in a jig on just a few sets of a-arms or what.

Ive heard of two seperate complaints.

The lowering problem is why I'm not going with Spohn unless someone can prove he's cured the problem. I have several of his parts on the car now and I was planning to use his A arms but when I got wind of the lowering problem I started looking elsewhere. I checked BMR and they offer a set but for almost $100 more than Spohn!
Why? Why do we spend so much on our cars?

Well, they are the only part of my suspension that is still stock. I could claim the weight savings was a reason but this car is pretty much my toy and does no racing, but I do take it out and run it I don't want to say hard but I do give it a workout. Plus they could gain me a few extra points at the shows. Other than that it'll complete the package.

Well if its the looks youre after...just got with the full spohn coilover kit...

For performance Id just brace the stock a-arms and run solid bushings be it steel stock car style bushings or GW units.

With too many people saying that the Spohn units lowered their cars I'm not chancing it or else I'd have already ordered them. I have considered the coil overs but I like the way the car rides now with the combo I have so I don't want to change it. I've talked with reps at BMR and they say without a doubt that their A arms do not lower the car and maintain integrity matching if not exceeding the factory pieces while still having the benefit of weight reduction. Looks like BMR will be getting an order from me as soon as I can get this TPI package sold.
