I just notice that in my trunk it seems there is a plate welded beside the wheel tub and the shock is mounted to that. Can someone send me a pic of under the car and in the trunk how they are suppose to be. My pazs side shock looks right..it is in front of the axle..the drivers shock is behind the axle..is this right. Guess I need to pull some of my parts books aut and see if there is a diagram.

What chassis is this on? My guess is it is correct. Staggared shocks were used to help prevent spring wrap.

it is a 67 camaro. What bothers me is it looks like there is a shock mounting point farther towards the front of the car/trunk. This is just a metal plate welded in. This us to be an old drag car back in the day I think..I wonder if they did that to help with the spring wrap problem.

That makes a difference then. GM started that in 68 so your 67 chassis should have the shocks inline. I am not sure if the shocks were infront of behind the axle on a 67, but I am sure someone will chime in about that.
