Those Ring bros. are some kind of good guys..Mike called me Sat. on my cell phone to congratulate me on my win..They have raved about the Cuda since they first saw it at SEMA. I met them a few years ago when they had the Red Convt that was in the SMOY finals along with Battle Axe..we were both extremely outclassed by Chicayne..they were just learning the ropes..they've come a long way..they're gonna be hard to beat..I heard Alloway talking about them..I'm sure there is some concern ..be interesting to see those 2 Mustangs locking horns..

Hmmm... very different than the rumors I'd heard. I was gonna say that if they did go with the "beater unrestored" look, they sure wouldn't be setting any trends for me. Though, I think I'd love to see someting like this at SEMA as a finished car:

Yeah, yeah, I know it's a model... here's the eBay auction for anyone that cares: http://cgi.ebay.com/1-18-Custom-UNRESTORED-NHRA-72-Chevy-Nova-SS-350_W0QQitemZ220005972536QQihZ012QQcategoryZ47188Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

One thing is for sure, when the mustangs show up at SEMA it will be easy to tell them apart. The Rings Mustang will be the only one with a killer stance and a bundle of ideas that are new in thought. They are doing a lot of trick things with different finishes thanks to Advanced Plating, not to mention that their one off parts are as bad as can be. Ford design of excellence award at SEMA is a possibility.

RING BROTHERS HAVE COME A LONG WAY SINCE THEY HAD THEIR 66 RED CONVT IN THE FINALS FOR SMOY OF YEAR WITH MY BATTLE AXE 69 CAMARO. MIKE AND JIM ASKED ME TO CRITIQUE THEIR CAR. I POINTED OUT A FEW THINGS AND THEY WERE REALLY WANTING TO SEE WHAT I REALLY THOUGHT. I TRIED TO TEACH THEM A FEW ROPES AND HOW TO GET SOME PARTS DONATED. NOW THEY COULD TEACH ME SOME STUFF. I'M GOING TO MAKE THEM SHARE SOME KNOWLEDGE WITH ME NOW. THEY'VE COME A LONG WAY IN A SHORT TIME..YOU CAN LEARN A LOT VERY QUICK WHEN YOU ARE OPEN TO OTHERS EDUCATED OPINIONS..

Bobs is correct,if you keep your ears open and listen to the good and bad about your ride a person can learn alot in a short time.I looked up to a very good upholstery man named Jim McFall in iowa, probley one of the best i've ever seen.he's forgot more than some guys know,He gave me some good advice 10 years ago when i went full time custom work only, I took it and it has paid of.He told me what i was doing wrong and what was right with my work.I've worked on a riddler winner, this year and street rod of year, custom rod of year.taking the advice helped get these customers.(also working a lot of fricken hours to get better). everybody's got an opion, and you know what they say.
.Just for the record i can't wait to get my hands on that mustang,

you did Dales 38 Chev?? That interior was way bad (in a good way) I loved the way you hid the seat base..very innovative..that 38 was one of my favorite cars I've seen in a long time. Dale is a class act..the 62 vette was bad ass too

Yes i did both cars for Dale,I thought i would try something new out on both.Stainless inserts in 38,i love working on street rods you can get alittle bit more funky with the right car,Dale lets me be free to do what ever i can.The vette was fun because there were no windows,so i tried out a composite plastic to form the coves in the doors, first one was easy, second one sucked trying to get it to match.I've got some new tricks to try out on the late models this year starting with rings stang.
late models in my world are post 49 cars.Josh Mishler is shooting 38 this week for street rod builder.I'm very proud of that sew job,Thanks for the kind words
