Want to know if this would help increase my power
current parts on engine:
350 bored .04 = 357
KB hyper pistons (i heard they stink but thats what i have now)
Trick flow heads 2.02 1.6 64cc
comp cams 280hr .525 lift 280 dur
Vic Jr manifold
Crane gold roller rockers 1.5
4 bolt main block w cast crank and rods
msd 85551 dist msd 6al box
7502 vac sec w deleted sec plate and added block for 4 jet adjustment

My question is i had a set of track 1's previously with this setup and once it hit 3k it was a slam in the seat. Changed to the trick flows and as they arent bad i wasnt impressed. Dont get me wrong the car moves but i want more. i was told i should have kept the brodix and uped the cam in lift and duration and this would have made a big difference. My question is what are your thoughts?

Would Brodix track 1s, IK 200 or something maybe like AFR heads with a bigger cam be a big bang for the buck. I liked the Brodix thats why i am somewhat partial to use them again.

I use Brodix heads on pretty much everything.I would use them and a cam with more lift.and let it go.

Thats what my take on it was. What cam would you have in mind?
Or what lift and duration do you recommend so i can find a cam.

Checkout these Comp cams both are rollers.

or

will a 600 lift be ok. i dont know if that would interfer with the valves. if i went to the track ones or even stayed with the trick flows would the clearance between the valves and piston be enough?

Also i have a th350 with 2800 stall, 3.55 gears and no traction devices such as bars or whatever
I know traction is gonna be a problem but what would you estimate i should run in the 1/4 with the current setup and what would i possibly run by changing to the cams listed and brodix track 1s?

Honestly, the only accurate way to tell if you have enough valve clearance is to measure with clay etc.

Nobody can give you the best cam selection without more information (and dont let anyone try)
What is the comp ratio?
how much does your car weigh?
what tire sizes?

Id suggest you call Comp cams and let them ask you these questions and then they wil plug it into thier computer to give you the best cam choice

as far as what heads? What do seroiuse racers use, Trick flow? I think not

With the 64cc heads i am told it is a 10.5-1 comp ratio.
car weight last time at the track with me in it 3368
The tires measure 26 inch tall.

I didnt think TF were the choice of racers. I had the Brodix and traded for the TF before know ing their true value. i think if i had the track 1s now and had upped the cam to mid to high 500 lift i would be a much different boat.

Jeff5347.

I was just trying to ball park on a couple good cams with info I had,Those two cams with 10.5 will work great. The TF heads will be ok,if you doubt them have them ported up.Always check valve to piston clearance on high lift cam.If you have flat-tops piston they should be ok,but check.I use pretty much comp cams in every motor I build,You might call there tech dept and have them spec a custom grind for you.

Yea what Rocket said call comps tech dept
and get the flow numbers of those heads while your at it

The more you tell comp the better cam will be for your aplication
