Anyone watch saturday night UFC PPV? Looking to find out who won... Ken Shamrock or Tito Ortiz and Arlovski or Sylvia Thanks Chris

I watched it.....BORING!!!! Tito and Sylvia won. The Tito/Ken fight lasted a little over one minute and while I believe Tito was going to win anyway I thought the ref ended it a little prematurely. As for the Sylvia/Arlovski fight the first two rounds were decent. If Arlovski would have kept kicking Sylvia's left leg like he did in the first round the outcome would have been different. In hindsight you didn't miss anything.

The winners? The cable companies for showing the thing and taking your money. The entire thing put me to sleep. Apparently the first fight was really good and bloody, but I missed it.

The prelims were more exciting than what was shown on the PPV. The highlight for me was when Dana White introduced Wanderlei Silva into the octagon to call out Chuck Liddell. If you've ever seen PrideFC you'll know why.

I haven't seen Silva fight, but I really don't see him beating Liddell.

Silva is a badass. Chuck is a hell of a fighter, but PRIDE is a whole different ballgame. He'll have his work cut out for him after he defends his title against that other guy in August.

I am not saying it will be a stroll in the park, but I don't think there is anyone in the UFC, or Silva, that has a chin that can withstand Liddells punching power. Plus the guy is incredible gaurding against takedowns. I have seen quite a bit of PrideFC and really dont see it as being any different than the UFC.

You've never seen Silva fight and you already have an opinion about him? If you werent aware, Pride is in the middle of doing an open weight grand prix, in which Silva is fighting, and is the ONLY non heavyweight in the semi-finals. He destroyed a guy named Fujita, who many said, couldnt be knocked out. Silva will not need to take Liddell down, he has devastating knockout power.
Silva fought a world class kickboxer from K1 named Mark Hunt, who outweighed him by about 60 pounds. Silva took a few shots from Hunt at full force, and was not knocked out, or hurt for that matter. I guarantee you a 205lb Liddell isnt nearly as powerful a striker as the 270lb Mark Hunt. Nor does Liddell have the skill of Hunt. Im not saying Liddell couldnt win, It just doesnt make sense to me that he would.
Not only that, If you didnt know, Liddell fought in pride against a guy named Quinton Jackson....well Jackson beat Liddell. Silva on the other hand completely outclassed Jackson on both occasions where they fought.
I like Liddell, I just dont think he's the best at 205lb. Not when theres guys like Quinton Jackson, Dan Henderson, Mauricio Rua, and especially Silva. To tell you the truth, I dont think he'll even get past Renato Sobral....

It is really a moot point until they fight. Hopefully it will be a good one.

I suppose your right, and of course anything can happen in an mma fight. It'll definitely be fireworks.

I actually agree with you here. Silva is a crazy man. I think the UFC rules will hinder him a little, but Lidell is gonna have to be on some serious 'roid rage for this one.

The thing that makes Liddell a good striker is his timing. Being off beat is an advantage. No roid's there. XYIENCE all the way.
Tito and Ken...Tito had that all the way. Second elbow and he went limp. No defense at all. Ref did his job...but yes I was disappointed that it was stopped before complete unconsciousness.
Liddell has fought and lost in Pride so it would be a nice win for him to send Wanderlei home packing but I don't see it. Lets see how long it takes him to put Babalu down.
Wanderlei is definately a bad ass, but he has been stunned and dropped by Sakuraba and Hunt and stopped by Belfort. I'd favor him but Chuck has a chance to land a bomb as he throws straighter punches as where Silva tends to be wild. Would be a hell of a fight though...

Yea i'll admit silva has been stunned a few times, but he recovers extremely quickly. Thats just the nature of his style, he goes for broke in just about every fight, do that enough times and you will get caught, the trick is to recover and keep fighting. Im probably a little biased since he's one of my favorite fighters, but the guy is so intense! Gotta love the staredowns.

Looks like Liddell and Silva have already fought...well not really but I found this funny clip on www.youtube.com

the one you gotta see is when Mark Hunt did a butt splash off the top rope on Wanderlei...I bet you won't see that at UFC. I hear he trains by doing chin chicken with big rigs? LOL

Chuck tends to gas and then starts throwing wild punches. He's going to have to up his cardio to last with silva. Silva is used to the 10 minute rounds of pride. I say silva will close the distance and get him in a clinch and it'll be all over.

Yeah, Mark Hunt's K1 nickname is Cement Head and he lives up to it big time.

After watching a few of those videos on Silva, I'm reminded that nobody goes after his legs. That might slow him down.

That and many of the guys he fought are not as tall as Liddell and as previously mentioned the UFC rules may hinder him. Should be a good fight!

Silva and Liddell should definintley be a better show than this last weekends fights. But we'll see how he does in August....
