a few months ago I bought an edlebrok kit that came with the performer manifold, performance carb and the performer camshaft, i have already gone trhough 2 of those projects, but i was wondering if for me to be able to change the cam i would need something else or is it just a pull out and change it type of thing. the engine it is going into is a sbc 350.:dunno:

I guess it somewhat depends on the age of the engine your putting the cam in. How many miles are on it and what kind of miles they were (for example was the thing revved to 6-7k regularly).
I always heard that if you replace the cam you should also replace the lifters. If you're doing that I'd also look at the lift pins and springs (goes back to the revving thing above, if the springs are weak from years of use and abuse then they probably won't like a higher lift cam). Look at the timing gear too. If you have one of those with the nylon teeth throw it away and get a good all steel one.
