View Full Version : Wheel Size Options for 69-82 Corvettes
I'm not finding the amount of pictures and discussions of different tire sizes I would expect to find for 69 - 82 Corvettes.
Does anyone know of good sites or newsgroups besides this one? These cars have lots of space and I want to see some creative ideas.
Let me be more specific. Some of these cars came from the factory with 8 inch rims with 255s.
Can I put 18 x 9s and 10s with 255s in the front and 305s or 315s in the rear without any interference?

I'm guessing the fronts will work with the right backspace but the rears would probably be too big. I think 285s are max in the rear and to run 10s you would need offset control arms. Hopefully someone who knows for sure will chime in here. I think Vette Brakes started selling their adapters to run C4 8.5s in the front and 9.5s in the rear on C3 cars way back when.

The guys in the C3 forum over at the Corvette Forum can answer these questions.

I found that site too, but there is no specific tire and wheel section or search index feature.

But I'll ask the question and see if I can get a response.
Thanks,

I run a 17x8 with 255/50/17 4 bs. in front and a 17x9.5 rear rim 4 1/8 bs and a 275/50/17 rear tire with a mild flare and e brake bracket removed.I couldve went to a 17x11 if i removed my sway bar but at the time wanted to keep it.I think some guys can run up to 5 inch bs with a 17 or 18x10 with ebrake removed, you could also run offset trailing arms too .
