I am replacing the Pitman arm and Idler arm on my 1969 Camaro.
The replacement idler arm is 5.375". The pitman arm is 5.75". Do they need top be the same length ? I have seen info on David Pozzi's site identifying a 67 Camaro idler arm that is 5.75" long. Will the 67 idler arm work ? Will using the short idler arm with the long Pitman arm cause a problem ?

I wouldnt think idler arm length will affect anything - jus make sure it matches the OE one, than make sure its adjusted so drag link is level so you wont have any addl bumpsteer issues

I have similar set up on my 68 bird . theoricaly idler arm and pitman arm will not make the same arc so the drag link will not move perfectely parallele , but in reality I don t note negative effect on the road

It appears the original idlers were long, around 5.7", but replacements are shorter. It doesn't seem to make a difference, but I haven't made any on-car measurements. A reproduction idler may be available from someone like Ricks, or Classic industries.
