Kids are at the grandparents' house so I worked on the car for about 9 hours today... 9 hours straight - dang I'm tired.

I pulled the gas tank to look at the problem with the sending unit - I think it was a grounding issue because with the sending unit out of the tank the gauge functions fine. I'll make a better ground and put it back in. Since the Painless harness has a fuel pump line that runs through the fusebox, I decided to re-route the fuel pump wiring that was going under the car with the fuel lines. I ran it with the harness wiring and through a manual rocker switch so I can turn off the fuel pump if I need to.

So with the fuel tank out, I figure it was a good time to route the parking brake cable and get that set up. So, I do that and had to customize a part between the stock cable from the pedal to the Lokar setup in the rear. I wasn't too sure how to run the Lokar cable to the passenger side rear since they don't quite route the same as stock, so it ended up laying on the muffler at one section. I sheathed the outer cable in some hi-temp fabric casing that I had bought, so I think it will be ok. I also used some of that on the fuel lines that were close to the muffler.

I almost got the parking brake cables finished, but I got hung up because I couldn't thread the passenger side cable through. It's a braided steel cable that goes into a sheath and it kept getting hung up. Man, what a pain - what I wouldn't give for a lift. I figured it was quittin time and look forward to getting everything put together tomorrow - I have a 4 day weekend so with luck I will get everything done and ready for the interior.... we'll see!!

I have been thinking about running some sort of custom parking brake cable down the drivers side of my 69. I want to keep the factory foot brake. I would like to see some pics of what you did when you get a chance to post them on your website.
