I think what he's trying to get across is that it's an original mold for a Daytona coupe..but I thought they had aluminum bodies?

What it looks like to me is a body buck. You lay the sheet metal on it, then pound it into shape. It also looks like somebody sandblasted it.

You are right! LOL! My head asploded 2. After some super glue and 62 SpiderMan bandaids I was able to get my noggin back together.

I couldn't look away. I was forced to trudge throught the whole thing 2 times to make sense of it all. I still don't understand it. You have a better chance at undertanding a woman's mind.

It looks like a wood buck for building a Shelby Daytona body off of. Although...all the wooden bucks I've seen for building aluminum panels from have A LOT more wood bracing at the surface. The wood bracing would be spaced about every 6 inches instead of every 12 to 16 inches (or more) like this guys buck. My guess is that this is a buck created by some kit car company for producing fiberglass bodies. This guy is from Arizona and probably left this thing out in the hot weather for too many years. At one time it was probably covered with resin. Once that deteriorated the the foam and filler between the plywood sections have started to fall apart. This buck is worthless. You could not build a body from it without spending a thousand hours repairing it. At that point why not make your own buck for a lot less.

What's the deal with the letter to the WhiteHouse and the other stuff have to do with this auction?

Did you check out his other auctions? This uneducated guy has a wrecking yard full of weird old stuff. He's selling an old rusty exhaust system from a 32 Buick for BIG $$$$. This guy is on crack!
