I would like to install a different cam when I replace my radiator in a couple of weeks, but I'd like to get some opinions on which one to get.
I have a 69 camaro with the original 327 motor and a not original TH350 tranny. The motor was rebuilt about 25,000 miles ago, and at that time I was only 16, so, needless to say, I didn't know much about cars or engines for that matter. It was bored .030 over, and I had hypereuctic pistons installed, but other than that, it is all stock as far as I know. The tranny was installed about 15,000 miles ago and it isn't very crazy either. I had a shift kit installed, but I'm not even sure what the gearing is on it. All I really know is that it shifts relatively hard from 1st to 2nd(enough to chirp the tires at over 2,000rpm) and it shifts very smoothly into third. As far as I know the torque converter is stock, but it may be one level just above stock, not sure there (guessing about 2,000 rpm stall). I'm also not sure if this matters at all, but I've also just recently installed a brand new Ford 9" with 3.50 gears.
I'd like to find out what you guys would suggest for a cam for that setup. I'd like to get the wildest cam I can get without losing any performance. I know if I get too crazy with that setup I will lose a ton of vacuum, and I don't want to do that. I also want to get roller rockers, so any help with the brand and cam/kit you might suggest would be very greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance guys!
