Anyone personally own, or have photos of the back of a '68 Camaro with the rear seat delete option. I'm just wondering how the area is finished?

Upolstery (sp?) over the bulkhead from the floor up to the rear sill?
Carpet?

Am I crossed up with another car here? It's my understanding that there was a rear seat delete available on the 1st gen cars. Perhaps just CoPo's?

Anyway, I'm wondering what was put in place of the seat over the bare floor and bulkhead?

Failing the above, I s'pose Id like to see how the area under the folding seat is finished.

There was a fold down seat but no rear seat delete.

Hmm, I thought one could delete the rear seat along with radio and heat. Oh well, I must be thinking of another type of car.

In that case......does anyone have any photos of that part of the cabin with the seat folded?

I installed a fold down and now regret it. It is too heavy and non-functional. I can post pics if you need them.

I just want to see how the bulkhead is finished. I'm not going to have a rear seat at all due to the monkey bars. But I'm torn as to how I want to finish the area off.

I've thought about just putting a roll-bead into some Al and riveting it up over the bulkhead and area where the rear seat bun used to be. But thought that might act like a big freakin drum head.

So then I thought about Al with a bunch of Dynamat or Lizard skin and cover it with carpet to match the floor (a bit of '70s love van flair) or vynil to match the stuff on the panels beneath the rear side windows.

Third option would be a wood bench covered with carpet (like Tony H has) that would provide a mounting location for speakers and an amp should I so choose and be less resonant than metal....but heavier.

All GM did was put a small track along the bottom of the bulkhead to allow fitment of a simple interior-colored cardboard divider. It is fastened along the top with several trim screws and rubber bumpers into the metal bulkhead. The divider is in all of the repro catalogs.

That sounds like it would really behave like a drum head. Does it turn your trunk into a giant speaker box?

Perhaps I'd be better off with sheet metal heavilly riveted to the bulkhead bracing so as to minimize area to resonate?

Anyone who has deleted their rear seat care to chime in on how well (or not so well) your solution worked?
