So I'm putting together the parts to redo my steering setup, and I can't seem to find my pitman arm anywhere. Ames has discontinued it, neither summit nor jegs has one for a second gen, and I don't really know where else to look. I'll be switching to a flaming river box-dunno if that changes the criteria for the arm, but just in case, i figured i'd throw it out there.

I know they put a new pitman on g/28, so somebody's gotta make them...but who?

Would it use the same part as a Camaro? If so, you might want to ask around at: http://www.camaros.net/forums/

I got it from NAPA auto parts.I ordered it as a 1974 Trans Am pitman arm they did the rest.I know it was a moog part and it was beefy sized arm.

note:
On a 1st gen you have to move the arm 180 and it works perfect with the 2nd gen box.The arm is straight but the mounting holes are identical ctc spacing to the 1st gen.

Im not sure about 2nd gens but on third gen cars the pitman arm is a non-wear iten, and it only requires replacement if the arm is bent or the splines are gone, etc.

Many moons ago, when I worked in an autoparts store, TRW also used to make one. It might be an order only item, as they don't wear out too often, but somebody has to still make one!

Welp, according to my local o'riley, it's unavailable...but the good news is it's listed as a nonwear part. So I'm fine with what I've got.

Still seems weird that they're completely unavailable, but that seems to be the case with a lot of random 2nd gen parts.

2nd gen arms are no wear. I would think you can get one off any PS car. Post a WTB at nastyz28.com and transamcounty.com

3rd gen arms are different, no doubt. 1st gens are too, IIRC, they are wear items on 1st gens.

I got mine through Performance Suspension out of Phoenix. No promises as I am looking at a four year old invoice, but their number is 602-272-4085
