I am changing the heads on my 68 Firebird to the Edelbrock RPM aluminum heads, which are a copy of the Ram Air heads and have round ports.

Problem is, the only company that I have located that makes headers for these heads is Doug's Headers (part D568) and nobody (and I do mean NOBODY) has them in stock. Even the manufacturer says they are "backordered" until "late July" (i.e., "August").

Second problem is, the engine is going together next week and I need them pronto (no, I didn't anticipate that these headers would be as rare as hen's teeth).

Anyone have any ideas, or possible sources for a set of these?

Use Hedman 35131. I can drop ship them to you or you can get them through Summit. They are $487.00 and have a weld on collector. They have a footnote specifically for Edelbrock heads.

Frank - good call - I take it you recommend the "uncoated" headers over the "ceramic" headers? Do you use a particular coating on yours?

I have a place called hypercoat that has their own version of ceramic coating, that polishes up very nice. get them in, welded, and then plate them.

Try Indian Adventures or Chief Many horses on their web sites. I have Pontiac myself and will be going the Edelbrock way also. Good luck!

FWIW a good friend bought a set of headman husler headers for a 67 bird with e-heads and they fit like crap - removed them(never running mind you) ebayed them and bought some from Dougs headers and the fit beautiful but be forwarned they were like 700 bones, after like 400 for headmans = lots of money spent but he is happy with them so make your choice. I would rather they fit right the first time just my .02c :bicycle:
