That poor ol greenhorn police office would have given Barney Fife a good run for his money..you'd thought he had caught the Boston Strangler red handed..he was shaking like a man on a fuzzy tree..nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof..I never said one word to him..boy did I want to light them up after I pulled off just to see him have a cardiac arrest..I believe he would have shot me though...

Between the 'cuda, the headphones and your shiny dome, I'll bet he thought he had captured an alien.

By the time he got his bullet out of his shirt pocket, you would have been long gone though!!

Anyone who wants to step up and claim that the cuda is a trailer queen should expect to be thoroughly flogged. Wear two sets of padded underwear. Bob beat the living daylights out of that car at every opportunity. I personally kicked up large chunks of wood at his high dollar CF hood. (Sorry dude) Like all ground up hot rods, it still needs some tweaking (lean the WFO fuel map and ditch those deafening brakes), but no one can argue that the car hauls ass--even in its present tune.

The cuda sounds like an entire NHRA Cacklefest at idle and a Ferrari at redline. It revs right up and really sings. I can attest to that.

I got to the Adam's Mark Right before he left. I heard him pull away but didn't see him visiting with the local authorities.

I was talking to one of the guys from Johnson's shop that mensioned Bob has had it up to about 185 mph so far. Is this true Bob?

those brakes stop on a dime and give a nickle change..problem is they squeal like a Banshee Indian until you get heat in them..Gotta figure something out..need to get that ceramic surface on those rotors smoothed out and get some different pads..gotta lighten that driveshaft where I don't have to granny shift that thing

By the tach and gearing& tire dia. etc, we had it up to that at the airport in Gadsden before we sucked the oil line shuit and fried the bearings. haven't had it back out since. Ran it to 170 or so on the Power Tour.

He checked me out..I was so clean, he let me go with a warning..Like at 61 years old, i'm going to listen to a warning. I was hammering cars while he was still sh*ting yellow..

On the power tour, with the windows closed, air on, and kids watching tv in the back, I could still hear Bob's car loud and clear! It is a very nice piece of machinery!

Yeah, :3gears: .

Bob Johnson

That bright red car is a legend for sure. Everyone keeps coming over there with power added cars and no one is really kicking his as*..might beat him a touch, but for a normally aspirated carb car with a 4 speed trans..I'm impressed..I will have to have nitrous..and at least 300 h.p. of it with my paltry 11.5 to 1 motor..that 9,000 ft.(corrected) altitude is not friendly with any motor much less a low compression one. Car turned out much heavier than I anticipated, the intake isn't making the power I want. Got to get to Columbus and see if we can win the SMOY..after that, I'll go back to the drawing board and see what we can do...guys like Jeff with 1100+h.p. 2300# cars are going to make for rough sailing..those milk truck Vipers with turbines aren't any slouches either.. but at least they are heavy...

Can you tell us how much that Cuda weighed in at?

Bob Johnson
06-21-2006, 04:54 AM
It weighs as much as Jeff's Fleetwood..Wah Wah Wah..too much safety bull shi*, comfort bull shi* etc..but it rides better than a new Mercedes. Frank Serafine was riding next to me in his F Bird convt. When we stopped he asked me how it rode. I told him unbelievably well. He said he could tell by watching the Cuda hit big bumps. It just glides over them. Those Hyperco springs and Bilstein Shocks are remarkable. Lexan glass, extensive use of aluminum, Carbon Fiber, All aluminum driveline including engine, and it's still heavy. We took one step forward and two steps back. 2 firesystems, dual nitrous tanks, 26 gallons of fuel, air, P. S., stereo, 17+qts of oil, big ass radiator, etc. Handles like on rails too.
